SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 20, 2015 -- Kevin Smith, who wrote and directed
Clerks, Yoga Hosers, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and the series “Comic Book Men” among his many credits, and Jason Mewes
, who starred in Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob
among numerous collaborations with Smith, will record an episode of
their podcast “Jay & Silent Bob Get Old” on Saturday, June 20, at
8:30 p.m. at the Sacramento Community Theater (1400 J Street), in
conjunction with the second annual Wizard World Comic Con Sacramento.
Ranked
#1 on Itunes Comedy podcasts, “Jay & Silent Bob Get Old” is a
sometimes touching, always hilarious, look at what happens when two
people grow up in Hollywood’s gaze. These limited engagements will be
recorded as the stories evolve live in front of the audience, and
released for free on www.smodcast.com.
The
event, which requires a separate admission from Wizard World Comic Con
Sacramento, follows up on “Wizard World Presents: An Evening With Kevin
Smith,” held earlier this month in Minneapolis alongside the Wizard
World Comic Con event there.
“I can’t wait to Bee in Sacramento! And I promise, the jokes will be better than that,” said Smith.
“Kevin
Smith was a big hit in his Q&A in Minneapolis, and Jason Mewes has
been a popular guest at Wizard World Comic Cons, so this unique live
event is a great opportunity for our fans in Sacramento,” says John Macaluso
,
Wizard World CEO. “We are pleased to bring them together for a special
night, and happy that Jason will also be meeting fans, signing
autographs and posing for photo ops at Wizard World Comic Con
Sacramento.”
A writer, comedian, podcaster, and film director, Smith has written and directed numerous films, including Dogma,
Red State and Tusk, in addition to
Clerks, Chasing Amy and
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. He also has authored Silent Bob Speaks, Shootin’ the Sh*t with Kevin Smith
, My Boring-Ass Life and most recently
Tough Sh*t: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good. He can be heard daily at Smodcast.com, a vast network of podcasts.
In addition to being the never-silent half of the cult heroes Jay and Silent Bob, Mewes has appeared in Smith’s
Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Clerks II
among 80 film and TV credits. The New Jersey native has also appeared
in a variety of indie films, television roles and video game voiceovers,
